WorldEvents™ Group Announces Profits of €1.8m / £1.3m / $2.6m for 2007WorldEvents™ Group today announced its 2007 results which show profits of £1.3 / €1.8 / $2.6 million and turnover of £21.2 / €30.7 / $42.4 million. This is the third year in succession that the company has achieved significantly in excess of one million pounds profit. Commenting on the results Martin Parry, Managing Director said, “We are very pleased with these numbers, which have achieved our targets and demonstrate our capacity to deliver consistent profits in a highly competitive market.” The success of previous years has enabled WorldEvents™ policy of growing the business organically, to be fast tracked in 2007 with investment in additional operational staff resources and infrastructure to support future predicted growth. This included the appointment of Gary Dickinson as CEO for the US business. The group in-house creative service offer has also increased significantly with the appointment of a Creative Director and 3 additional team members. Andrew Winterburn took up the challenge of European Development Director and is busily recruiting a new European team. The costs of setting up a new European office in Amsterdam have largely been borne in 2007 and, under Winterburn’s leadership is already showing real potential for incremental income and an enhanced offer for clients. 2007 turnover figures have been slightly reduced with some clients now choosing to pay venues directly rather than through the Group’s accounts. This is a trend the company expects to continue, potentially leading to higher margins on reduced turnover. Parry went on to say, "We continue to invest in the future and we are optimistic about our prospects. We are currently very active on the new business front and we are confident 2008 will show continuing growth in line with our strategic objectives." Executive Chairman Graham Keene added "We were honoured to be presented with 10 major awards in 2007 and were recognised not only in the UK but also in Italy, Germany and Spain for programmes that demonstrated significant CSR contributions to the communities in which we work."
