Frances Charlton Retires
Frances Charlton has announced her retirement from the Board of WorldEvents. As an advanced Cordon Bleu cook she started her career cooking private dinner parties in London. She then qualified as a remedial teacher and taught boys suffering from dyslexia at Stanbridge Earls School for several years and this in turn led to leading an outdoor adventure education school in mid Wales for 10 years. Frances joined Graham Keene when he started LMG International 21 years ago and has been working in the events industry ever since. LMG merged with World Meetings in 1986 and has since become WorldEvents – one of the largest and most respected event agencies in the UK. Understanding client’s objectives and working closely with them to achieve their goals, whilst maintaining the quality of the events that WorldEvents deliver has always been important to her. She was a member of the Eventia Board for two years working with their training committee.
Commenting on her departure Andrew Winterburn, European Development Director, said ‘Frances has been one of the finest exponents of developing long term client relationships by delivering excellent service and becoming an intrinsic part of her clients’ organisations. This is an attribute that she has passed on to numerous WorldEvents staff and will be a lasting legacy.’ Martin Parry, Managing Director, said, ‘Although she retired from the operations side of the business in 2003, she has been involved as a non-executive Director. We shall miss her valued contribution to our Board Meetings and wish her all the best for her continued enjoyment of life in Devon and spending time with her four grandchildren.’ |
