Corporate Social Responsibilty: Green Meetings

TripleImpact

Triple impactAs part of our ongoing commitment to CSR, we have developed our own expression of what best practice should be in the planning and delivery of events. We call this TripleImpact.

Firstly, we believe that every event should provide a return on investment to its stakeholders. We plan each event and ensure that objectives are set and agreed with our clients. With this in mind, we provide a full ROI analysis for clients conforming to an acclaimed industry methodology utilising our software as a means to collect event evaluation data.

Secondly, we believe every event should be planned to minimise its carbon footprint. To this end we have developed our own extensive event checklist so we can recommend means to ensure that sustainability is at the fore of the planning process. This factors in everything from venue selection through to meeting materials and locally sourced produce and equipment. One significant step taken has been the development of an event portal that reduces significantly use of paper in the process of registering delegates to all events.

Thirdly, we believe that it is important to put something back into the communities in which we run events. Using local suppliers is one element of this, however we would not underestimate the impact and lasting impression one can create on delegates by involving them in a social programme based around the local community.
Graham Keene, WorldEvents
Our Executive Chairman, Graham Keene is also very heavily involved in our TripleImpact initiative and was the closing speaker for CEMA (Corporate Event Marketing Association), a US Event Industry Association, at their Summit in California in July. Graham’s keynote speech “Leave No Footprint” looked at ways of reducing the carbon footprint of events and developing programs with a CSR payback, including practical steps to help deliver greener events.
