Industry Recognition

WorldEvents™ has been recognised by our industry peers for the CSR work we have conducted on behalf of our clients. This includes a range of award wins and speaker engagements as follows:

Eventia International Awards 2007 - Gold for Best Event Demonstrating CSR

Won by WorldEvents™ for the management and delivery of Norgine’s Centenary Conference in September 2006. A key aspect of this conference was a house building project in Mabele-A-Podi - a township in South Africa where many of the villagers live in corrugated tin shacks with no running water. Many families here have lost their breadwinner to HIV AIDS. The building of low cost houses for the families who have lost both parents to HIV AIDS really made a difference to the community. Eight houses were built in total during the event.

IMEX Commitment to the Community Award 2008

WorldEvents™ were named as Winners of the IMEX Commitment to the Community Award 2008 on 23rd April at the IMEX Trade Show in Frankfurt. IMEX is a worldwide exhibition for meetings and incentive travel and the award programme supports IMEX's environmental initiatives with four awards specifically developed to reward and promote environmental awareness and corporate social responsibility.

The Commitment to the Community award is made to those companies demonstrating innovative efforts to benefit a charitable initiative of choice and judged on criteria of suitability, creativity, sustainability, and the power of one.

Eventia International Awards 2009 - Silver for Best Event Demonstrating CSR

IMEX Commitment to the Community Award 2009

Both of these awards were won by WorldEvents™ for the management and delivery of Allergan’s EAME Sales Conference in January 2008. In order to ensure that delegates felt they had made a difference, we created a unique CSR programme linked to the local environment and community in Malta. We approached the Community Chest Fund run by the government of Malta - a charity that provides struggling areas in the local community with money to improve their lives.

A dedicated team worked for 3 months prior to the event managing local contractors to plan and renovate 9 properties including a children’s home, women’s and domestic violence refuge, a disabilities leisure centre and orphanage. On the day, the President of Malta met with the President of Allergan and local press to thank Allergan for their contribution.
