Eventia One Future Initiative

This initiative is an events industry programme designed to support increased carbon reporting and management and recognises the valuable contribution to emissions reduction that can be achieved by Eventia members, through best practice.

Clients of WorldEvents™ will have the ability to make a voluntary 1% contribution of their total spend on any event, to a UK-based carbon offset programme. 1% has been selected as it most closely corresponds to the current market cost of carbon credits in relation to events activity.

The Eventia carbon partner is The Carbon Consultancy who provide specialist carbon management services and deliver UK carbon offset products based upon forestry and education. The Carbon Consultancy will support the Eventia membership and its clients to reduce and offset their emissions, through corporate and staff programmes, education and training support.

This activity will be in addition to carbon reduction activity our own company is taking, including office wide recycling and use of recycled goods, reduction in waste power usage and business travel and our ‘TripleImpact®’ service offering to clients.

Green Meeting Industry Council

WorldEvents™ are also members of the Green Meeting Industry Council (GMIC) The Green Meeting Industry Council is a non profit membership-based organisation. Their goal is to encourage collaboration within the meetings industry toward the development of green standards that will improve the environmental performance of meetings and events on a global basis. The GMIC is the only professional green meetings organisation that is a member of the Convention Industry Council.

GMIC members think and act differently. We are early adopters, who inspire and lead change. Being passionate and committed to green meetings, we challenge the status quo and strive to create a better more sustainable world. The GMIC has members in over twenty countries worldwide and represents the leaders in the field of green meeting management.
